Danny's Tram Stop Photos:
Metro do Porto

Metro do Porto is a tram system in Porto (also known in English as Oporto), Portugal. Calling it a tram system undersells it though – really it's more like a hybrid of tram and metro, like the Hannover Stadtbahn – it runs underground with substantial stations in the centre of the city but elsewhere mostly runs on the surface with more basic modern-style tram stops. Unlike German Stadtbahn systems though, it opened in 2002 as a brand-new system, rather than as an upgrade of an older tram network (although parts are converted railway lines), and operates entirely using low-floor trams rather than high-floor. For more information and history, see Wikipedia and UrbanRail.net. For service and fare information, see the operator's website.

My photos come from a holiday in May 2018.
